Aisling & Shane's relaxed wedding was the perfect opportunity to reconnect with friends & family from overseas in Ireland. From their rooftop first look to getting down with the saxophone by the end of the evening, their day was full of laid-back moments, good company, and a whole lot of fun.
Their Day at A glance
Aisling & Shane's wedding began with a first look on the rooftop of the hotel, overlooking the Toronto skyline. They were then accompanied by family for family portraits before welcoming the rest of their guests for the ceremony.
Their ceremony took place indoors on the top floor, where guests could settle into comfortable couches and enjoy the ceremony against a backdrop of large windows overlooking the east end of the city. The ceremony was filled with anecdotes about the couple's story, shared by the friends and family who knew them best. While Aisling & Shane didn't have a traditional wedding party, some of the most important people in their lives were there to present the rings and sign as witnesses. The joy and laughter in the room were contagious.
As we headed into cocktail hour, taking place across both the ceremony space and rooftop, Aisling & Shane celebrated their new marriage with a champagne pop before continuing to greet guests, reconnect with loved ones from back home, and catch up with friends they'd made in Toronto, all while accompanied by a live band. They were having far too much fun to be pulled away for photos, and honestly, we didn't want to take them away from it. Instead, we embraced the excitement of the room and let the afternoon unfold naturally around them.
Aisling & Shane entered the room to an extremely welcoming roar. The reception space, located in Lincoln Hall, was decorated with colourful bud vases and candlelight, with warm exposed brick adding to the atmosphere. One by one, family and friends took to the mic, bringing both plenty of laughs and a few happy tears. Individual speeches from both Aisling and Shane made the reception feel especially personal and genuine, giving everyone a little more insight into their story.
They shared a beautiful first dance before inviting everyone onto the dance floor. What followed was still, to this day, one of the best wedding dance floors I've ever been a part of.
From the moment guests were welcomed onto the dance floor, the party was on. Large groups quickly filled the floor, and Aisling changed into her wedding-day slippers to make sure she was ready to stay out there all night. The live band from cocktail hour returned, and if you're thinking about adding a saxophone player to your wedding, take this as your sign.
By the end of the evening, suit jackets were off, wedding-day slippers were on, and, of course, someone busted out the worm. The night wrapped up with a poutine bar for those late-night cravings, while the party kept going.
